What did Venti call Zhongli? ›

Venti calls him an old block-head and tells the Traveler to come with him to see him as he has a vintage, dug up from Windrise that he can take as a condolence gift. Venti asks the Traveler if Zhongli still seemed strong when the Traveler saw him.

Venti, the Anemo Archon of Mondstadt, and Zhongli, the Geo Archon of Liyue. The two of them don't seem to have much in common. In fact, they have been good friends for more than 2,000 years, and some funny things have happened between them.

The only Instance that Zhongli got weaker is when he relinquished his Gnosis, Implying that he had lost a small portion of power but it eventually returned according to his Ascension VL, his loss of power here doesn't even have anything to do with Erosion.

Canon. Guizhong and Zhongli have known each other before the Archon War — the two are both gods, Guizhong the God of Dust, and Zhongli the God of Contracts. The two first met in Dihua Marsh, in a garden of glaze lilies. Guizhong showed Zhongli her stone dumbbell, the Memory of Dust, hardly suppressing her joy.

In the Japanese version, Childe calls Zhongli “Zhongli-sensei.” Apparently this is because Morax taught him to use chopsticks. Now, a “Dowry Gift” is something of extreme monetary value/importance given to either the bride or the groom to the future spouse. I'm not saying this is what happened but…

It is revealed at the end of Chapter I: Act III, "A New Star Approaches," that Zhongli was the instigator behind the act's events and the Geo Archon, Morax. Morax was known by many other titles, including the Warrior God, the God of Contracts, and Deus Auri.

It is implied that Xiao knows of Rex Lapis' mortal form with evidence from his voiceline "About Zhongli", referring to Zhongli as 'Zhongli-daren' and 'Zhongli-sama' in the Chinese voice and Japanese dub respectively. He also seems curious and perplexed on Zhongli's decision to live his remaining life as a mortal.
