As I take each step, I will carry the memory of my own Mother, who lost her battle with cancer in 2017 (Just six months after this photo was taken) with me. Her strength, her courage, and the love she gave continue to inspire me every day.Cancer doesn’t just affect those diagnosed—it impacts the lives of everyone who loves them. I’ve felt the sadness, the anxiety, and the worry that come with this terrible disease, and I know I’m not alone. Ten years ago Primark and this store changed my life.I traveled from Ireland to the Netherlands to help open a new store in Enschede. What was meant to be a two-month bolster period turned into a decade-long journey that has shaped my life in wonderful ways. 🇮🇪✈️🇳🇱This store has been central to so many of my life’s milestones—from meeting my husband, getting our dogs, buying our first house, and getting married, to navigating the loss of my mother. 🏡🧸❤️Professionally, it's been equally impactful. I've watched the team grow and evolve, with so many colleagues from this store advancing within the store and our wider Dutch business. 🌱📈I’m incredibly grateful for the experiences, friendships, and opportunities that this store and the city of Enschede have given me. Reflecting on an unforgettable few days last week at our Damrak store, I’m filled with pride and gratitude for the overwhelming support and participation in our Amsterdam Pride celebrations! 🌈✨The energy in the store was electric, from the vibrant drag performances in our windows, to the buzz around our safe space Pride-themed fitting rooms. Seeing our colleagues and customers come together in such a powerful way reminded me of the incredible impact we can make when we celebrate authenticity and inclusivity. 💪🏽A special thank you to everyone who made this event a success—our talented drag DJ, the amazing makeup artist, and of course the brilliant Nella Vanwesenbeeck who together with our partners Raúl&Rigel worked tirelessly to bring our vision to life. 🎶💄👏This weekend wasn't just about celebration; it was a reaffirmation of our commitment to making Primark a place where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and free to be themselves.
